How much clearance is required when mounting a Sunny Boy 6000?
I'm installing a Sunny Boy 6000 on a job, but have limited area to mount the inverter. What is the required clearance?

Page 28 of the Sunny Boy 6000 installation manual reads, "In a normal operating environment with good ventilation, eight inches of clearance is adequate. The National Electrical Code may require significantly larger working clearances (see NEC Section 110.26)."
The NEC section 110.26 has a lot of information on working clearances.
Use 4’ Depth of clearance in front of the equipment – but check the code, it can be as little as 3’ if conditions are met.
Use 30” minimum Width in front of equipment for all equipment 30” or less in width, that can be serviced from the front. For equipment over 30” in width, use the equipment width.
For working Height, use 6 ½’ or the height of the equipment, whichever is greater.
150-600VDC can have even greater working clearances depending on the electrical nature of the surrounding area. Check the NEC against your installation site and check with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction).
