What is the most important parameter consideration when trying to predict the annual system output of a grid-tied inverter (w/o battery bank)?

Comments

pathic, that's a great question! Thanks for asking!

  • Ambient temperature is one of the most important parameters. The hotter the spot, the less output you'd have.
  • PV Array size is obviously very important (eg. number of modules, strings)
  • Efficiency of the inverter
  • Solar irradiance, azimuth angle, latitude of the project location, array tilt angle, shading are other important factors. However they are not directly related to inverter.

I am attaching a snapshot from SMA string sizing tool in order to give you an idea how temperature would effect annual output.
