Based in the Catskills Mountains of New York, Winter Clove Inn is a 100+ year-old business that made the decision to go solar in 2020. Owner, Edward “Bud” Whitcomb, approached the opportunity with the thought, “why can’t older buildings be energy efficient too?” Winter Clove used the REAP grant to help pay for the system.
Operating out of Albany, New York, for over 70 years, Kasselman Solar designed and installed this 81.60 kW, watt net metered, grid-tied system for Winter Clove Inn and partnered with Greentech Renewables Albany to support their project needs. The system is comprised of both roof and ground mount arrays.
To serve the energy needs of this historical business, the Kasselman Solar installation team used 204 LG 400W solar panels, 204 SolarEdge inverters, and SolarEdge Monitoring. As of August 2020, their modules have been installed, and the electrical work is set to be completed by October 2020. After project completion, they will be adding EV chargers to the property to continue their journey toward energy efficiency.
